Purpose

Conducting research in developing oral monoclonal antibodies for livestock

Major responsibilities

Antibody discovery and engineering

Recombinant protein expression and purification

Analyse expression of antibodies generated in-house and by external partner labs

Develop Analytical methods for antibody characterisation

Coordinating the experiments with partner labs conducting in vitro and in vivo research

Training

Masters with 3+ years of experience or PhD in Biotechnology or equivalent subject

Experience in designing and generation of expression vectors for recombinant protein production and purification from microbial expression systems

Expertise in analytical assays development for protein quantification and characterisation

Molecular biology techniques such as real-time PCR and mammalian culture work are a plus

Knowledge and skills

• Manage several parallel projects in a structured and well organised manner
• Present and discuss results within the team and in meetings with external partners
• More than 3 year experience working in a (Biotech) research lab environment
• Expression strain development
• Protein expression analysis with ELISA and PAGE-based techniques
• Bioinformatics basic skills
• Knowledge of English (spoken and written)
• This position is for residents in Belgium
